Kitting out hospitalitys: what actually matters
Where the work happens
Front of house, on show for the whole shift. Clothing is judged rather than tested — spills and general wear rather than abrasion, but the standard for how it looks is far higher than on site.
Who you are kitting out
Waiting staff, bar, housekeeping and management. Each is usually dressed differently, and the differences are deliberate — the customer should be able to tell who to ask.
Which garments earn their place
Bar shirts and waistcoats for front of house, waist aprons for service, housekeeping tunics for rooms. Fit matters more here than in any other trade we supply.
Embroidery or print
Embroidery, small and discreet. A large printed logo on a bar shirt looks like a promotion rather than a uniform.
Summer and winter
Layers change more than garments. A waistcoat in winter, shirt sleeves in summer, and outdoor service needs something branded for staff working the terrace.
Mistakes we see on hospitality orders
- Ordering one size run for a mixed team without a size set. Fit is visible here in a way it is not on a building site.
- Putting a big logo on the back of a bar shirt. Nobody sees it and it reads as cheap.
- Buying two shirts each for staff working five shifts a week.
Hospitality kit questions
Can front-of-house and housekeeping have different kits?
Yes — order different bundles per role, or build custom kits per role. Per-head pricing applies to each separately.
Is the embroidery subtle enough for a fine-dining room?
Yes — tone-on-tone thread (e.g. charcoal on black) is a popular choice and costs the same as standard embroidery.
Do you do both bib and waist aprons?
Both — bib aprons for kitchen and barista roles, waist aprons for floor service, either embroidered with your logo.
